In the local community there are people who have specific needs which are not being met. These people include:
- People on a low income
- People from CALD Communities
- People who don’t have the resources to deal with the bureaucracies that they come into contact with.
- People who feel isolated or bored
- People who do not have access to affordable and stimulating recreation
Wingate Avenue Community Centre’s primary focus will be to meet the needs of these groups of people. It aims to provide an integrated range of services as activities within the learning centre.
The centre will promote self help and act as a catalyst to assist people to reach their maximum potential.
Fees for services and classes will be set with the needs of low income earners in mind.
The centre has a philosophy of community development and its operations will reflect this in the provision of accurate and objective information and in ensuring that consultation and community representation is maintained.
